Slash vs Stripe for Ecommerce: Fees, Payouts, and Fit

Slash payment processing runs on Whop. How it compares with Stripe for ecommerce brands on rates, payouts, disputes, and store fit.

Stripe is the default way to take card payments online, and Slash has just entered the same market with Whop providing the infrastructure. On paper the card rates are close. The real differences are where the money sits after a payment, how much of the stack you control, and how a store connects. This is a comparison for ecommerce brands using Stripe's published US rates and what Slash and Whop have published.

Chart comparing the fee on 50, 100 and 200 dollar ecommerce card orders at Stripe's 2.9 percent plus 30 cents and the Whop base rate of 2.7 percent plus 30 cents
Chart: Shopiator calculation from stripe.com/pricing and docs.whop.com/fees, October 2, 2026. Slash's own rate is unpublished.

The Rate Comparison

FeeStripe (US, published)Whop base (behind Slash)
Domestic card2.9% + 30c2.7% + $0.30
International card+1.5%+1.5%
Currency conversion+1%+1%
Dispute received$15.00$15.00
Manually entered card+0.5%Not listed on the page we read

Sources: stripe.com/pricing and docs.whop.com/fees, October 2, 2026. Slash may price differently from Whop's base rate.

On a $100 domestic order the difference is 20 cents: $3.20 on Stripe versus $3.00 at Whop's base rate. That is real at volume, but small next to the effect of one dispute at $15, one refund, or one international card. If Slash's own rate is above Whop's base, the gap closes or reverses, so get the quote first.

Where They Really Differ

  • ▶Where the money sits: Stripe holds funds in your Stripe balance and pays them out to your bank. Slash says funds land directly in your Slash account, where they can fund cards, spend tracking, and treasury.
  • ▶Reconciliation: Slash shows payments, fees, and receivables in one dashboard. With Stripe you reconcile payouts through reports and accounting sync.
  • ▶Integrations: Stripe connects to most store platforms and apps. Slash shows invoices and an SDK.
  • ▶Tools around the payment: Stripe offers billing, tax, fraud, and disputes products priced separately. Slash has banking, cards, and treasury but has not detailed fraud tools for processing.
  • ▶Maturity: Stripe is a long-established processor. Slash's processing launched on September 24, 2026.

Who Should Pick Which

  • ▶Keep Stripe if your store runs on a platform plugin, you rely on its billing or fraud tools, or you need broad payment methods.
  • ▶Test Slash if you already bank or spend through Slash, invoice customers, or build a custom checkout and want the payment, fee, and cash in one account.
  • ▶Run both for a time: Stripe on the main checkout, Slash on invoices, then compare actual net cost per order.
