Whop Financing - BNPL Options, Eligibility, Fees and How to Apply

Whop financing explained: 13 buy now pay later options, the 15% fee, eligibility ($30,000 in 90 days), how to apply, dispute limits, and why it may not show.

Whop financing lets your customers split a purchase into monthly installments at checkout while you get paid upfront. Whop lists thirteen buy now, pay later options, from Klarna and Afterpay to Splitit, Sezzle, and PayPal, and switches them on automatically once your business is approved.

Approval is not automatic. Whop sets a volume bar, a dispute-rate cap, and a list of business categories the providers will not support, and it charges a 15% fee on financed transactions. This guide pulls Whop's financing documentation and fee page into one place, checked October 2026.

For how Whop prices ordinary card payments, see our Whop payments breakdown. This guide covers the financing layer on top of it.

What Is Whop Financing?

Whop financing gives your customers the flexibility to split purchases into monthly installments while you get paid upfront. After Whop approves your business, financing options appear on your checkout pages automatically, and customers manage their payment schedules through the financing partner's own portal.

One wrinkle in Whop's own documentation: the apply page says Whop partners with ten financing providers, while the financing options page lists thirteen options, which is twelve providers plus native card installments. This guide follows the options page, since it is the detailed list.

Overview from Whop's Financing Options page, checked October 2026. Limits depend on the customer's country.

Four of the options need a request to Whop support to switch on: ClarityPay, Scalapay, Tamara, and SeQura. Klarna's limits also vary by country, from £2,000 in the UK to $10,000 in the US and a much lower €1,000 to €1,500 in several European markets.

How Much Does Whop Financing Cost?

Whop's fees page lists financing as its own line: 15% per successful transaction through a financing partner. The same page lists domestic card payments at 2.7% plus $0.30. The apply page says you receive the full payment amount minus standard fees.

Domestic cardFinancing partner
Whop fee2.7% + $0.3015%
On a $1,000 sale$27.30$150.00
DifferenceBaseline$122.70, about 12.3 points

Arithmetic on the rates listed on Whop's fees page, checked October 2026. That page does not say whether card fees stack on top of the 15%, so confirm on your dashboard.

Two other mechanics are easy to confuse with the fee. Splitit sales carry a separate reserve: Whop holds 15% of every Splitit sale for 180 days, then releases it, and it appears on your Balances page as a Splitit reserve. That is a hold, not a charge. Timing also differs by provider: Sezzle orders settle on a 15-day basis, and SeQura funds 88% after 14 days and 12% after 12 months.

Who Is Eligible for Whop Financing?

Whop financing eligibility checklist: 30,000 dollars processed from 10 or more customers in 90 days, dispute rate under 2 percent, 90 days of processor statements for new businesses, and a verified Whop Payments account
Shopiator graphic built from Whop's Apply for Financing page, checked October 2026.
  • ▶Account setup: your Whop Payments account must be fully set up and verified, which you finish on the Balance page, and your store page must be complete so Whop understands what you sell and how you fulfil orders.
  • ▶Business category: financing companies cannot support gambling, sports betting, trading signals (pure education may be acceptable), credit offers, or adult content.
  • ▶Dispute rate: keep it below 2% over 90 days.
  • ▶Volume: at least $30,000 processed from 10 or more different customers in the last 90 days.
  • ▶History for new Whop businesses: submit 90 days of statements from your previous payment processor. Submit processing statements, not bank statements, showing total transactions and disputes.

If your category is ineligible or your dispute rate is too high, Whop shows a message that you are ineligible to apply.

Open a Whop account, then apply from the Payouts page once your volume and dispute rate qualify.

How Do You Apply for Whop Financing?

  1. 1.Open your Whop dashboard and go to the Payouts page, then the Financing and other payment methods tab.
  2. 2.Or apply while creating a checkout link: on the Checkout links page select + Create checkout link, choose One-time as the pricing type, and select Apply for financing under Payment methods.
  3. 3.Complete the application form.
  4. 4.Wait for Whop's decision. It emails you, sends a direct message, and posts a notification on the Payouts page if it needs more information or cannot accept the application.
  5. 5.Once approved, choose which financing options appear on each checkout link in its pricing settings.

How Does Whop Financing Work for Customers?

Financing options appear automatically on your checkout page. The customer picks a provider such as Klarna or Afterpay, Whop sends them to that provider for an instant approval decision, and they complete the purchase on the provider's platform. You control which options appear on each checkout link.

You still receive the full payment amount, minus standard fees, while the provider collects repayment. Customers manage their plans in the provider's own portal, not in Whop.

Which Businesses Can't Use Whop Financing?

The providers (Splitit, Klarna, Sezzle, Afterpay, and Zip Pay) do not support certain categories, and a business in one of them cannot use financing on Whop. Whop's troubleshooting page groups them like this:

  • ▶Adult, gambling, and dating: adult entertainment, escort services, gambling, gaming, raffles, lotteries, dating, and matchmaking.
  • ▶Financial services and high-risk lending: banks, credit unions, mortgage and non-bank lenders, factoring, money services, payroll companies, securities or commodities dealers and brokers, investment advice, collections, credit repair, debt relief, and bail bonds.
  • ▶Regulated and prohibited products: firearms and ammunition, drug paraphernalia, dispensaries, medical marijuana, nutraceuticals, unverified health or weight loss products, precious metals, and counterfeit goods.
  • ▶Marketing and telemarketing: telemarketing, negative response marketing, search engine optimization services, call centers, and answering services.
  • ▶Subscription and service-based restrictions: discount travel clubs, magazine subscriptions, video rental, timeshares, fractional ownership, and real estate brokers, agencies, consultants, lessors, and property managers.
  • ▶Miscellaneous high-risk: government, nonprofit, charitable, and religious organizations, social networking sites, sports forecasting, fortune telling and astrology, mining, farming, energy, logistics and freight forwarding, and products with unreasonable guarantees or claims.

For ecom, the line that stands out is nutraceuticals and unverified health or weight loss products, which rules out many supplement brands. If you are unsure, Whop says to contact support before applying.

How Do You Keep Whop Financing Access?

Whop revokes financing access automatically if financed transactions reach its dispute thresholds and emails you when that happens. You can watch dispute rates for each financing partner on the Health report in the Payouts section.

ProviderWarning alertAccess revoked
Klarna0.5% dispute rate1% dispute rate
All other providers1% dispute rate2% dispute rate

Thresholds from Whop's Apply for Financing page, checked October 2026. Alerts go out by email and Whop direct message.

When an alert arrives, Whop's advice is to set clear return policies, refund unhappy customers, and make sure buyers know where to resolve issues so they do not dispute directly with the bank. For the rest of Whop's dispute tooling, see our guide to Whop fraud and chargeback rules.

How Does Splitit Work on Whop?

Splitit is the unusual one. It needs no credit check and no new credit line: it uses the customer's existing personal credit card to split a purchase of up to $20,000 into monthly installments with no interest. Splitit supports customers in 36 countries, but only on USD checkout links.

  • ▶The hold: Splitit places a temporary hold on the full purchase amount on the customer's card, which is not a charge. Splitit releases it within 30 days, often within a week.
  • ▶Which cards work: personal Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover credit cards with enough available credit. Debit and prepaid cards do not work for installments.
  • ▶Seller reserve: Whop holds 15% of each Splitit sale for 180 days, per sale, and shows it on the Balances page.
  • ▶Refunds: refunds and cancelling leftover installments go through the Whop Resolution Center, and an approved case cancels the remaining installments.

Is Whop Financing Worth It for Your Store?

  • ▶Fits a high-ticket, one-time offer where a single payment is a real barrier and the product sits under a provider's maximum.
  • ▶Fits a business that already clears $30,000 from 10+ customers in 90 days with a low dispute rate.
  • ▶Does not fit subscriptions or recurring billing, because financing only works on one-time payments.
  • ▶Does not fit a category the providers exclude, such as supplements or weight loss products, or a business that cannot hold its dispute rate under the limits.
  • ▶Needs a margin check first: at a 15% fee against 2.7% plus $0.30 on cards, financing only pays if the extra sales it creates outweigh the higher fee on sales you would have made anyway. Whop's docs do not publish a conversion lift, so treat it as something to test.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Whop financing?

It is Whop's buy now, pay later feature. Customers split a one-time purchase into installments through providers such as Klarna, Afterpay, Splitit, and Sezzle, while the seller is paid upfront and the provider handles repayment. After Whop approves a business, financing options appear at checkout automatically.

How much does Whop financing cost?

Whop's fees page lists 15% per successful transaction through a financing partner. For comparison, the same page lists 2.7% plus $0.30 for domestic card payments. Splitit also carries a separate 15% reserve held for 180 days, which is a hold on your balance rather than a fee.

What are the requirements for Whop financing?

Your Whop Payments account must be fully set up and verified and your store page completed. Your business must be in an eligible category, keep a dispute rate below 2% over 90 days, and have processed at least $30,000 from 10 or more different customers in the last 90 days. New Whop businesses must submit 90 days of processing statements from their previous payment processor.

How do I apply for Whop financing?

Open the Financing and other payment methods tab on the Payouts page of your Whop dashboard and complete the application form. You can also apply while creating a checkout link: choose a one-time pricing type, then select Apply for financing under Payment methods. Whop notifies you by email, direct message, and on the Payouts page.

Which buy now pay later providers does Whop offer?

Whop's financing options page lists thirteen options: Afterpay (ClearPay in the UK), Splitit, Klarna, Sezzle, Zip Pay, ClarityPay, PayPal, Scalapay, Tamara, SeQura, Kueski, Addi, and native card installments. Maximum purchase amounts range from about $1,500 to $30,000 depending on the provider.

Do I get paid upfront with Whop financing?

Yes, you receive the full payment amount minus standard fees at purchase while the provider handles customer repayment. Sezzle is the exception, with orders settling on a 15-day basis. SeQura funds 88% after 14 days and 12% after 12 months, and Splitit sales carry a 15% reserve for 180 days.

Why isn't financing showing at my checkout?

Common causes are a product price above the provider's maximum, a subscription instead of a one-time price, a customer in an unsupported location, a checkout link in an unsupported currency, a product category the providers do not accept, or a dispute rate that is too high. Whop removes a financing option automatically when dispute rates pass its limits.

How do I keep my Whop financing access?

Keep dispute rates low. Whop alerts you at 0.5% on Klarna and 1% on other options, and revokes access if financed transactions reach 1% on Klarna or 2% on other providers. Dispute rates by financing partner are on the Health report in the Payouts section.
