Slash Payment Processing for Startups: Cards, Yield, Invoices

What Slash offers startups: cashback cards, treasury yield, perks, and new card payment processing through invoices and an SDK.

Startups are the first customers Slash lists on its payment processing page, alongside ecommerce, healthcare, agencies, wholesalers, and travel agencies. Slash positions itself for founders with cashback cards, treasury yield, perks, and now card acceptance. This is what Slash's startup page says, what the new payment processing adds, and what a founder should check, with Slash's claims labeled as Slash's.

What Slash Says Startups Get

  • ▶Cards and spend control: issue a card to every hire with merchant locks and per-card limits, with transactions auto-categorized for board reports.
  • ▶No personal guarantee: Slash says cards are backed by company reserves, not personal credit.
  • ▶Treasury: Slash lists a 4.02% annualized yield on money market funds with 1-day withdrawals and no minimums. Yields move, and this is not a deposit, so read Slash's disclosures.
  • ▶API and agents: endpoints for cards, policies, and events, so spend approvals and reconciliation can be automated.
  • ▶Perks: over $1 million in combined partner perks, including AWS, Google Cloud, HubSpot, Notion, and Slack offers on eligible plans.
  • ▶Vendor payments: wires and ACH at no cost on Pro, in fiat or stablecoins.

What the New Payment Processing Adds

A startup that sells software, services, or products can now collect by card on a Slash invoice or through the SDK. The funds land in the same Slash account that funds cards and earns yield, so revenue and spend share one dashboard. For a pre-revenue team it is a later step, since processing is for approved merchants and you will need a product to sell.

Slash's Own Comparison

Slash's startup page includes a table against Brex, Ramp, Mercury, and Chase on treasury fees, cashback, stablecoin payments, and non-US entity support. It is a vendor comparison, so check each provider's current terms before deciding. Our ranking of business banks for ecommerce founders covers independent criteria.

What to Check

  • ▶Whether your category is approved. Slash's launch coverage says card payment processing is initially available to businesses in ecommerce, telehealth, and software, and to service agencies in marketing, advertising, and consulting, so confirm your category is approved.
  • ▶Cashback and treasury terms at your balance size.
  • ▶Slash's card processing rate and payout timing, since neither is published.
  • ▶Whether you need a Stripe-style integration with your app, and how the SDK compares.
